At Celonis, internships are more than just a résumé booster, they’re a front-row seat to innovation, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving.

This National Intern Day, we’re spotlighting three former interns who took the opportunity to learn, grow, and step into full-time roles.

They stayed.
They grew.
They thrived.

Now, they're full-time Celonauts.

Meet Elena, Leo, and Dhruv, three of many young professionals who began their journeys at Celonis as interns and are now shaping the future of process intelligence.

Elena Maria Gradoli, Associate Consultant, Galaxy Program, Madrid

“A 2 months full immersion that gave me a broad understanding of the company, a lot of knowledges and the opportunity to meet super talented people.”

For Elena, her internship wasn’t just a crash course — it was a deep dive into Celonis culture, technology, and community. With a fresh Master’s degree in hand, she was ready to put knowledge into action.

“I got super positive feedback about the company, and wanted to put into practice the knowledge I gathered during my Masters. Celonis seemed to be the perfect place.”

What convinced her to stay?

“The healthy environment. At Celonis, employer branding is a priority. I really wanted to deepen my expertise and keep learning every day about process mining and the Celonis way of tackling it.”

Elena embraced the open, collaborative nature of the teams.

“Definitely what helped me the most has been the opportunity to talk to as many colleagues as possible, schedule coffee chats, don’t be afraid to ask for help or clarifications. Everyone is super available to explain and happy to help.”

Now in a full-time role, she’s finding her stride.

“Interfacing the client, driving value, having more responsibilities and the awareness of how much I can grow in this company.”

Proudest moment: “Having already led a meeting with the client by myself.”

Favorite Celonis value: “Live for Customer Value - It’s reflected on a daily basis in the commitment in each project and in the motivation to always do better.”

Her advice to future interns: “Do it!! It’s the perfect opportunity to jump in the business world. There are a lot of departments so you can see which fits you the best, colleagues are kind and ambitious, we have fun at the office, there are a lot of events organized, it’s the best place to combine work and fun.”

Dhruv Suvarna, Associate Services Consultant – Galaxy Program, Bangalore

“Process mining was relatively new to me, and that’s what made it all the more exciting.”

For Dhruv, everything about the internship felt fresh, from the platform to the people to the real-world project he contributed to.

“From the initial days of getting familiar with the Celonis Platform, to my actual project that involved applying machine learning to process mining insights, it was a super interesting journey!”

The transition from university to the working world can be overwhelming, but Celonis made it seamless.

“Jumping straight from college into the corporate world was quite intimidating, but the supportive team culture at Celonis made this transition for me way easier. From day one, everyone was welcoming and always ready to help. The guidance and mentorship I received definitely grew my confidence when stepping into my full-time role.”

Now, as a graduate hire, he’s collaborating across borders.

“What I love most about being part of Celonis now is growing with my fellow Galacticos, who all bring such different experiences. Something I look forward to every day is the chance to collaborate and work on projects with various teams across different locations, this is what makes the Galaxy program exciting!”

Proudest moment: “Contributing to a project that helped our team win the CS Global Innovation Award. The support and recognition we received made it a super meaningful achievement for me.”

Leo Ebert Gómez, Associate Consultant, Galaxy Program, Madrid

“Initially, I doubted the impact of a 2-month internship. However, the Services team provided genuinely impactful projects.”

Leo’s internship included building a tool that didn’t exist before, one that helps clean up EMS by deleting unused KPIs, filters, and variables. He recently saw a consultant still using it.

“Seeing a consultant use my tool recently and finding it still impactful was a highlight.”

His journey began years earlier, when a guest lecture on process mining caught his attention.

“What drew me to Celonis was a 2019 guest lecture on process mining by Janina Bauer (VP, Global Head of Sustainability at Celonis), specifically the Lufthansa use case, which fascinated me and led me to later apply for the summer internship.”

He stayed because the work, and the people, exceeded expectations.

“I love working with data, solving complex problems creatively, and generating customer value. The leadership, especially my managers managing style and conversations with my team, also convinced me. Finally, the Madrid office’s outstanding activities sealed the deal.”

Leo took full advantage of his time as an intern, going deep into the tech stack.

“My internship provided hands-on experience with Action Flows, views, and the ML workbench, making me a mini-expert, even a consultant acknowledged my in-depth knowledge!”

What keeps him energized now?

“Being surrounded by an incredible team and facing new challenges daily. This combination assures me I’m in the right place.”

Proudest achievements:

  • “Being part of a project involving a custom process with high technical complexity and implementing value-ready tasks.”
  • “Organizing a padel activity on Impact Day. We raised over €360 for a good cause, enjoying a fantastic afternoon with colleagues while making a real difference.”

Favorite Celonis value: “We Own It – even in my junior role, taking ownership is incredibly important.”

His advice to future interns: “Go for it! My internship offered real impact from day one! Beyond the work, the people are amazing, I built lasting friendships. The supportive leadership and vibrant office culture (shout-out to Madrid!) made it an invaluable experience.”
