In celebration of Women’s History Month, we spotlight women and allies at Celonis who are shaping the future of tech. Through leadership, mentorship, and inspiring career journeys, they’re empowering the next generation of women in tech and driving innovation.
Representation and Mentorship
For many women in tech, seeing others succeed has been a catalyst for their own ambitions. Charmaine Caruncho, Industry Principal Value Engineer, Healthcare, highlights the impact of role models:
“Sheryl Sandberg’s book Lean In inspired me to take a seat at the table, to be an active participant, have a voice, and empower other women to do the same. On a personal level, my late sister reminds me to stay true to myself, take risks, and seize the precious moments given to us.”
Senior Consultant Mariana Ibanez Trujillo echoes the significance of mentorship:
“My first mentor in a tech company showed me how far I could grow in a male-dominated environment. She led with confidence and empathy and proved how different the path to success can be for different people. Her guidance shaped my style, inspiring me to embrace my strengths.”
Representation isn’t just about inspiration, it’s about action. Jaimie Wolner, Senior Consultant, emphasizes its impact:
“When young girls see women succeeding in various careers, it shows them they can achieve similar goals. Seeing women in leadership and technical roles breaks barriers and builds confidence. Mentorship provides guidance from someone who’s walked a similar path, offering both inspiration and practical advice.”
Finding Your Path in Tech
The journey into tech isn’t always straightforward. Charmaine initially planned to become a doctor before pivoting to tech:
“During my studies, I was involved in academic research and presented healthcare data I had analyzed. Seeing the ‘WOW’ reaction from doctors and administrators was a defining moment. Since then, I’ve focused on helping organizations unlock the value in their data. What I love about technology is its ability to reveal insights that tell a story grounded in truth, and that is incredibly powerful.”
For Mariana, structure and problem-solving drew her to Celonis:
“My love for structure and processes led me here, where I can turn clients’ complexities into clarity. The company’s young environment and innovative spirit inspired me to join.”
Advice for the Next Generation
Breaking into tech can be daunting, but the women of Celonis encourage confidence and curiosity. Francesca Maria Rossini, Associate Value Engineer, shares her perspective:
“Don’t let self-doubt hold you back. It can feel intimidating when you're young, don’t have a technical background, or because you’re a woman in a male-dominated industry. But those perceived barriers are often just that—perceptions. On-the-job learning is incredibly valuable, and you’ll find yourself surrounded by brilliant, supportive people eager to share their knowledge. Don’t hesitate to apply for positions, even if you feel underqualified. Give it a try—you might surprise yourself.”
Jaimie advises women to trust in their abilities:
“Hone your strengths, stay curious, and build connections, networking and mentorship are invaluable. Trust yourself, even if you find yourself as the only woman in the room. Instead of feeling discouraged, see it as an opportunity to bring your unique perspective to the table. Your voice is valuable, and your contributions matter.”
Charmaine Caruncho
”Stay curious. Curiosity fuels growth, opens opportunities and leaves a positive impression on those around you.”
Driving Change for the Future
The impact of women in tech extends beyond their individual careers, it creates a ripple effect for future generations. Charmaine reflects on the role of community:
“A sense of belonging is so important, and I’m grateful to be part of that through Women & Allies @Celonis. I’ve seen firsthand how this community amplifies voices and uplifts others, creating lasting change.”
Mariana highlights the importance of visibility:
“The more role models young girls see, the more inspired they’ll be to pursue careers in tech. Representation matters, when women share their journeys, we empower future generations to follow the same path.”
