How do you balance your day job with your responsibilities as a site leader?

Balancing my day job with the responsibilities of site leadership requires strong time management, prioritization, and a deep connection to my team. I make sure to set clear goals for both my core role and my leadership tasks. Regular communication with team members ensures that I stay on top of their needs and support them effectively. It’s also crucial to empower people and delegate tasks when possible, which enables me to focus on bigger-picture initiatives and keep the Milan office aligned with broader company goals. Having a team that shares the same commitment to excellence helps me strike this balance.

Can you share any local celebrations or office events you’ve hosted that employees loved?

One of our most memorable events was the “Ski-QBR” on the mountains, with night team karaoke. Another successful event was the “Improve Growth Mindset by Team Painting”, where we exercised the art of creative thinking in a real Academy of Art to promote collaboration and trust. Not only was it a fun and engaging way for people to bond, but it also allowed us to celebrate our rich Italian art heritage. We’ve also hosted holiday parties, Italian cooking workshops, and team-building events that helped our Milan office strengthen connections across departments. These events are a perfect example of how we bring people together to celebrate both personal and professional milestones in a fun and inclusive environment.

How do you encourage employees to take ownership in making processes work not only for businesses but also for people and the planet?

At Celonis, we emphasize that optimizing business processes is not only about improving efficiency for businesses but also enhancing the quality of work for their employees. I encourage my team to view our solutions through the lens of both productivity and well-being. By streamlining processes and reducing inefficiencies, we enable our customers to create environments where their employees can focus on more meaningful, less repetitive tasks. This, in turn, leads to a better work-life balance, as employees are less burdened by daily tasks and have more time for creativity and strategic thinking.

Furthermore, optimized processes often result in a reduction of waste and energy consumption, contributing to more sustainable operations. I motivate my team to see the broader impact of their work, where both business performance and environmental sustainability go hand in hand. When employees take ownership of these initiatives, they not only help businesses achieve better results but also contribute to a positive impact on the planet. It’s a win-win: businesses improve their efficiency, employees experience better work satisfaction, and we collectively work toward a more sustainable future.

How do Celonis' values align with your personal values as a leader?

Celonis' values resonate strongly with my personal leadership philosophy, particularly around empowerment, collaboration, and fostering a culture of growth.

“The best team wins” is central to how I lead—building a diverse team where everyone feels heard, listened to, and valued. I believe when people feel empowered to contribute their ideas, it creates a culture of growth and innovation. I ensure open communication and a safe space for everyone to voice their thoughts, which strengthens collaboration and drives our success.

“We own it” reflects my belief in accountability and autonomy. I encourage my team to take ownership of their work, which empowers them to make decisions and take pride in their contributions. This sense of responsibility fosters both personal growth and team success.

“Live for customer value” aligns with my focus on realising value that truly benefits our customers. I guide my team to always think about how we can bring maximum value to clients, which drives continuous improvement and performance.

Finally, “Earth is our future” and “Focus/Invent/Simplify Act” emphasize the importance of sustainability and simplifying complex challenges. These values guide me to lead with purpose, driving innovation while considering the long-term impact on both people and the planet.

Share your favorite experience as site leader to date?

One of my favorite experiences as site leader was organizing our Partners Day. This event was a true example of partner engagement and required strong collaboration across several teams to ensure its success.

Our Partner Manager was essential in coordinating the right partner stakeholders, and aligning the event to meet their needs, strengthening relationships and skills. The Sales team (AEs) helped partners understand how Celonis delivers value, positioning our solutions effectively in their respective industries. The Value Engineers (VEs) led the technical training sessions, providing hands-on experience with our technology. Their expertise allowed partners to gain the skills they needed to implement our solutions confidently. Marketing played a crucial role in promoting the event, crafting messaging that resonated with our partners, and generating excitement before and after the event. Professional Services contributed by providing tailored use cases, helping partners understand how to apply the technology in real-world scenarios. Additionally, our Office Manager was vital in coordinating logistics, ensuring that everything from scheduling to catering was handled seamlessly, allowing the event to run smoothly.

This cross-team collaboration led to stronger partner engagement, empowering our partners to deliver greater value to customers and scale our business effectively. It was a rewarding experience, highlighting the power of teamwork and the importance of empowering our partners with the right tools and knowledge.
